To celebrate the theatrical release of India’s first concert film – Flight 666 on May 8th - the much awaited award-winning film based on the world-renowned British rock band - Iron Maiden, PVR Pictures and EMI Music India in association with Firangi Paani paid a special tribute to Iron Maiden at Firangi Paani, Andheri (West) on Monday, April 27th, 2009. The evening was a complete livewire where the popular classic rock band, One Night Stand wooed the Iron Maiden fans by crooning Iron Maiden numbers including Aces High, Waisted Years, Can I Play with Madness?, Hallowed De Thy Name, The Trooper, Two Minutes to Midnight, Fear of The Dark along with performing other classic rock anthems. The first shots of the film that put Mumbai on the world rock map with the Mumbai concert being the opening shot of the film were showcased as well. The evening witnessed a galore of Iron Maiden celebrity fans. Shweta Salve came along with Rodney Barnes and Longines, Karan Oberoi, Gary Richardson, Alex O’Neil, Pooja Bedi, Deepak Tijori, TV Host and RJ Siddharth Kannan, Aushima Shawney, Nandu
Bhende and many other seemed to be having a great time.
Firangi Paani, one of the most happening pubs of the Mumbai Suburbs, has always offered a great platform for live rock band performances and with its British appeal proved to set the perfect ambience for a tribute evening dedicated to the British rock pad.
The Iron Maiden Film: Flight 666 and is set to release on May 8th, 2009 in digital cinemas across Mumbai, New Delhi, Bangalore, Pune and Guwahati. Exhilarating, honest and often humorous, this full length music documentary about the first leg of the band’s historic SOMEWHERE BACK IN TIME WORLD TOUR in February and March of 2008, is considered to be the most ambitious and adventurous tour in rock history.
