'Reel life couple' - Shasha, PC starrer, Teri Meri Kahaani" narrates a story of soulmates who baffle against circumstances. This triple-treat tale of love and romance revolves around three stories spanning over three different eras. Nevertheless, this romcom fails to touch our hearts.
Director Kunal Kohli, to some extent, has failed to strike the chord this time. The premise may have been exclusive but the over all packaging is as stale as our Indian cinema itself. Not to forget that, 'script is king' in Indian cinema which pulls the crowd to theatres.
Story: The story revolves around a caravan of perdurable love between a two different people who meet, fell in love and exchange vows to love each other now and forever. Their strong vows and destiny brings them together in three different era's.
In 1960, a struggling music playist, Govind meets and falls hopelessly in love with the most successful actress of that era, Rukhsar. Next switch is 1910 where Shah plays , a rauchy Muslim boy (Javed) who fell head over heels with a sweet Punjabi Muteyar (girl)-Aaradhana.
And finally comes 2012 in England, where again love rekindles between a hot chic Radha and the sexy dude Krissh. Call it destiny or whatsoever, a boy and girl meet in different eras to rekindle their love for each other but fail to take their love to finality. What happens next, what goes wrong.... is for you to find out.
Screen play and performance: Shahid Kapoor stole the limelight from Priyanka Chopra, which is quite surprising. Heart-throb Shahid continues to mesmerise ladies and young girls with the charming and killer persona in the movie. He has done justice to his respective roles from different eras. In short, a waku doki performance throughout the movie.
On the other hand, PC looks gorgeous in sexy outfits and plays her just-fully in each of the story! After a rumoured whirlwind romance in real life, PC and Shah latest flick also contributes to the audience curiosity.
The best part in the movie is the chemistry between the duo and the way the director has concluded the three stories. The distinctiveness of the film is intriguing enough to make the viewers hang on and await for every scene.
Music: Music and Lyrics of the movie are fantabulous and beautifully written by the duo- Sajid-Wajid brothers. Each soundtrack is churned with catchy youthful flavour. Since the film is a love story is divided into three different eras, there is ample scope for some beautiful situations and good music. Songs like 'Hum Se Pyaar Kar Le Tu' and 'Mukhtasar' are already hot favorites against masses.
Verdict: On the whole, Teri Meri Kahaani is a good, yet regular rom-com. Though it bounces back the regular romantic flick themes of Bollywood, it somehow lacks the potential of winning cine-goers' hearts.
