One of the most anticipated weddings of the year of Telugu superstar Ram Charan Teja to Upasna Kamineni was a star studded affair. The Temple Tree farmhouse of the Kamineni family located on the outskirts of Hyderabad was teeming with cars of every make. The coy bride was dressed in a Manish Malhotra outfit and followed Ram Charan who walked ahead in a flower-decked canopy to a specially designed hall, to the musical accompaniment of the traditional nadaswaram.

The high profile wedding was graced by who's who of politics and tinsel town. From Amitabh Bachchan to Rajinikanth, the wedding saw big Bollywood and Tollywood names in attendance. The world of business rubbed shoulders with the political class led by Andhra Pradesh Governor, ESL Narasimhan, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, TDP leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu and TRS Chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, among others. Among business leaders were spotted Shivinder Singh of Fortis, Kiran Mazumdar Shaw of Biocon and a host of others. Telugu news channels were running a live feed of the VIP arrivals right through the wedding.

The three-hour wedding ceremony conducted in traditional Telugu style with priests chanting mantras and the bride and the groom smearing the Jeelakarra Bellam and Madhuparkam was followed by the other ceremonies, including the grand finale – the tying of the mangalsutra and Saptapadi, the seven steps that the bride and groom take around the fire.

The high profile wedding began four days ago with ceremonies at Domakonda Fort, followed by a sangeet and other parties. Ram Charan's father and former actor Chiranjeevi will host a reception on Thursday evening followed by one on Friday by Ram Charan for his fans.
