Their Manolos And Louboutins Live On


Just in time for Fashion Week, Sex and the City comes into our lives again. These Manhattan gals are, without doubt, some of the most stylish ladies in the history of TV -- it was simply necessary to honor the four fashion icons who changed the way we see the streets of NYC. So, as Mercedes Benz Fashion Week gets closer to the end, we say hello to HBO's female fashion legends.

Carrie, Miranda, Samantha and Charlotte have been reflecting experimental and daring fashion of their time since airing six seasons and two movies ago. Next to friendship, fashion was the main coping mechanism of this HBO series. Remember in Sex and the City: The Movie when the gals came together at Fashion Week? It was as if all their relationship blues vanished at the sight of a runway.

Big love, Cosmopolitans and clever one liners are all key ingredients to the best moments from Sex and the City. As our favorite female New Yorkers frequented the city streets, they left us with a few words on the power of fashion and great shoes.

"I like my money right where I can see it: hanging in my closet," shoe addict, Carrie Bradshaw uttered somewhere along her journey though the six season series. As much as a woman loves to shop, sometimes it can seem like a daunting task. Samantha reminds us when in doubt, to tough it out. She broke her toe during the series and made it clear to Carrie (who offered to forego the shopping trip) that she had a broken toe, not a broken spirit. favorite sex and the city fashions

Watching the female foursome walk side-by-side was always an empowering sight, often making you reach for the phone to call your own BFF who supported you through a less than ideal shopping trip, bad breakup or finanical crisis due to expensive shoes.

So, about the shoes. Brian Atwood, Christian Louboutin, Jimmy Choo, Dior and (cue sigh) let's not forget the royal blue Manolo Blahniks that brought Carrie Bradshaw and Big back together in the end. Who would have thought that, after a Vogue wedding photo shoot complete with Oscar de la Renta and Dior, Carrie would get married in a nameless
