Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone are back together in a film that is eerily similar to their Love Aaj Kal. Director Homi Adajania makes a comeback with this romcom, Cocktail after his critically acclaimed Being Cyrus. Though Cocktail looks like a fresh take on relationships, Saif’s opening line about love at first sight is old and clichéd. The new girl Diana Penty looks great with the Nawab and we are waiting to see more of her. Perhaps Dippy’s boldest film yet, it seems as if she is having a blast with this one – you can see that in the trailer. It is wonderful to see Boman Irani with Dimple Kapadia again, after their brief appearance in Zoya Akhtar’s Luck By Chance. Saif looks pretty convincing as a flirt who wears his heart on his sleeve and we must say that from what we’ve seen so far, we can’t wait to watch him share screen space with Deepika and Diana. Despite the powerful presence of stars Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone, the third actor in Homi Adajania’s Cocktail has managed to get everyone interested in her. She is an Indian model called Diana Penty. But not many people know her, since she isn’t one of the usual struggling actors waiting for her big break in Bollywood.
The casting directors of Cocktail were looking for a new face to cast as Meera, and one day Imtiaz Ali – who has co-written the script – suggested that they meet Diana. And that was it. Dinesh Vijan, the producer of Cocktail, and Homi agreed to meet the young model. The producer recalls, “I was in a rush to leave town, she was in a hurry to go for a photo-session, but at a glance, we felt that despite the perfect smile and polished looks, Diana was the shy, girl-next-door Meera.”

It pains me as a woman to see gender being used to play victim. And, as a feminist, I am appalled that any woman can describe herself as”bait". Why bother with misogyny when we do such a fine job of knocking ourselves down!

On wonders why the film is titled ‘Paper Dhoni’, when it tackles issues like terrorism, corruption, poverty, and illiteracy. The director tries to provide his own solutions to these problems.

Unlike other commercial movies, ‘Paper Dhoni’ tries to be serious by bringing out issues that may be totally irrelevant to the story line. May be the director wanted to show that he is well aware of problems in the country and abroad.

A source informs us, “Arjun Kapoor has been signed on to play the lead for the role. The deal happened on Monday night and the film will roll by the end year. The leading lady is yet to be finalised.”

The source further said, “Sajid Nadiadwala has bought the rights of the book from Chetan Bhagat and had initially planed to make the film with SRK, which was to be directed by Vishal Bhardwaj.

Reviewing his last 12 years' work, Abhishek Bachchan feels people have been over-generous and have given him much more credit than he deserves.

“I don’t think anyone expected me to do country. Everyone probably expected hip-hop, but we wanted to bring a new element, change the show completely up. And we did,” Donald said. “I think we did an amazing job. LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Caption Shawn Johnson has announced her retirement from gymnastics, despite her desire to make the 2012 Olympic team.

“I still have the heart, drive, and desire to compete and help the USA at the London Olympics,” the 20-year-old gymnast — who had been struggling to make a full recovery following a 2010 knee injury — said in a statement on Sunday.

“Unfortunately, it has become obvious that my left knee is not able to sustain the demands of gymnastics any longer,” the statement continued. “All I can do now is gracefully retire and thank everyone who has believed in me and my journey.”

Johnson said she chose to announce the news immediately so as not to take attention away from the impending Olympic trials.

This weekend Snow White and the Huntsman seeks to storm the box office and take the number one spot. A rather combative and fantastical take on the classic fairy tale, Snow White and the Huntsman stars Chris Hemsworth as the titular hunter and Kristen Stewart as the central heroine. Stewart, as many of you know, is also the star of the beloved or maligned (depending on who you talk to) Twilight Saga. Whether a Twi-hard or a Twi-hater, the basic fact is that the Twilight performances franchise-wide have been less-than-stellar. Stewart herself has taken a great deal of flack from Twilight detractors, and I won’t pretend I didn’t count myself in this camp at one point, for her stilted, vapid portrayal of Bella Swan.
As I said, I didn’t think much of Kristen Stewart after seeing the first few Twilight movies, but one of the greatest fallacies critics can commit is believing that one role represents the breadth of an actor’s talent. It shouldn’t take you long, venturing outside the town of Forks, to understand that Kristen Stewart is far better than Bella. The first movie that opened my eyes to her talent was 2010’s The Runaways. She took on the unenviable take of portraying iconic rocker Joan Jett, and did so with such poise and rebellious complexity. It was one of the biggest surprises of that year for me. Currently, another 2010 film featuring Stewart, Welcome to the Rileys, is available on Netflix’s Watch Instantly service. I have a feeling that if you give it a spin, you might just come around on Kristen Stewart too.

Actor Roshan Seth, known for playing Jawaharlal Nehru in Richard Attenborough's "Gandhi", will return to the big screen with Kabir Khan's "Ek Tha Tiger".

The 70-year-old actor, who was last seen in a cameo in Mani Ratnam's "Guru" 2007, will be seen as Salman Khan's mentor in the film.

It's not every day that you get to see a film which is a collage of yesteryear's films, and that too, a horrible mish-mash. "Qasam Se Qasam Se" lacks originality from the word go.

The premise is simple, but with a hackneyed plot. It is about a college romance between Rohan (Azim Rizvi) and Faith (Faith Mehra) with Vijay (Faraaz) as a villain and a bagful of issues like growing up anguish, peer pressures, family, experimentation with life, terrorism... the usual obstacles to the couples's romance.

The film is supported with a cast like Rakhi Sawant, Satish Kaushik, Ashwin Kaushal, Omkar Das Manikpuri, who are stereotyped. It reminds you of a stretched daily TV soap opera, convoluted, replete with emotional drama, where continuity and logic is lost with space and time.

The study also showed that the positive effect on people’s mental health was 50 percent more than they might expect from going to the gym.
The researchers at Glasgow University looked at natural and non-natural environments for physical activity, including walking, running and cycling, and found that being around trees and grass lowered brain stress levels, the Telegraph reported.
The study, led by Prof Richard Mitchell, polled nearly 2000 physically active people in the 2008 Scottish Health Survey.

It isn’t going to be easy for Kangna Ranaut to match steps with the nimble-footed Madhuri Dixit in Dedh Ishqiya. Madhuri, we hear, will be doing plenty of dancing for the Ishqiya sequel. And Kangna playing her pyari saheli would have to join in. Director Abhishek Choubey has apparently asked the junior actress to brush up her dancing.

It’s going to be a blast from the past for Madhuri Dixit and Kangna Ranaut in Dedh Ishqiya, the sequel to the successful 2010 black comedy Ishqiya about an uncle-nephew pair, played by Naseruddin Shah and Arshad Warsi, and their adventures when they landed at the doorstep of a wily widow in rural Uttar Pradesh.

She opted for a train journey to the capital, as she wanted her daughter Aadya to experience nature like the hills and rivers as well as the different station enroute. Hopefully the tot savoured the sights and the smells of the country’s heartland.

"I think she (Vidya Balan) is a fabulous actress. What's wrong with her? There is always a rule - it takes one to lead and rest to follow. Malla's last item number, Munni Badnaam went on to become a huge rage two years ago and her Anarkali number from an upcoming film is also doing well.

Our source reveals, "On an average she is getting six inquiries in a week. What is quite surprising is that she has also started getting inquiries for New Year's Eve from prestigious clubs. In fact, the organisers are also willing to offer more moolah to woo her. She normally charges Rs 50 to 75 lakh for a show but with this song she is likely to cross the Rs 1 crore mark. Malaika is very thrilled," adding that apparently there is a beeline of event organisers outside her house.

"Some really cool songs have been out in the recent past. I like (Kareena Kapoor's) Chhammak Chhallo very much. I like (Katrina Kaif's) Chikni Chameli. I think these are really cool," the 39-year-old said on Tuesday when she was asked about her favourite item songs.
Meanwhile, she revealed that the music of her home production 'Dabangg 2' is still in the pipeline and she has not decided whether she would do an item number in it.

I am not dating Neil, says Sonal

After her debut flick Jannat in 2008, Sonal Chauhan went missing from the big screen except for a brief outing in Bbuddha Hoga Tera Baap last year and a few South films. Of late, the starlet has been more in the news for being spotted with Neil Nitin Mukesh than her film commitments.

Sonal Chauhan gives Neil Nitin Mukesh a makeover

Looks like the two are not only steady but their romance is actually thriving. So much so that Sonal has even given her alleged sweetheart a makeover. Now everyone’s been talking about Neil’s new slick and edgy look in his new film opposite Sonal. Our sources tell us that it was actually Sonal who gave him that look.

The source says, “While Neil and his stylist were considering maintaining Neil’s longer hair, it was Sonal who suggested that he should go with a shorter look, as she believes he looks much better that way. He took her suggestion seriously and decided to surprise her on the set with a new haircut.”

I couldn`t have acted without Shirish`s support: Farah Khan

Choreographer-director Farah Khan, who is making her acting debut with "Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi" opposite actor Boman Irani, says she couldn't have done it without her husband Shirish Kunder's support.

"I first asked Shirish whether I should do? Will you be comfortable with it? So, without his support, I don't think I would dare to do something like that," the 47-year-old said here Tuesday when she was asked about her decision to act in films.

"He is the one who supported me. He said, 'If the script is good and if the film is clean, and you will do it, then you will have another feather in your cap.

While Saif Ali Khan’s work schedule seems to be crammed right now with his professional commitments, looks like the actor is determined to make sure his impending wedding with Kareena Kapoor is stress free — at least from the work end.

Their wedding is rumoured to take place at Pataudi on October 16 with a lavish reception in Mumbai the same day. It seems both Saif and Kareena are planning to effortlessly juggle their timetables to comfortably fit in their wedding schedule.

All's not well with Hindi filmdom's original superstar Rajesh Khanna. The actor, recently seen in a TV ad, has stopped intake of food the past few days, while his estranged wife Dimple Kapadia is taking care of him.

"Rajeshji is unwell. He has stopped having food since the last three or four days," the 69-year-old's manager Ashwin told.

"He is not able to have his food. Khaana muh pe nahi jaa raha hai (The food is not going into his mouth)," he added, but didn't confirm if the actor will be admitted to a hospital soon.

Popularly known as 'Kaka', Rajesh Khanna went through a health scare in April too. He was hospitalised following uneasiness back then.
